Jazz in July

Well, its been a while since my last post so I thought I'd share this painting from last Sunday at the Jazz In July fundraising event hosted by In Our Own Voices. They asked me to do a painting for the silent auction and finish it at the event. So I brought my easel, oil paints, and canvas to the really beautiful Home Savings Bank in Albany. There was a live jazz performance during the event so I decided to paint the band. I always enjoy painting from life because its easier to capture the atmosphere of the moment. It took about 3 hours to complete.

Lots of new posts coming soon. New projects in preparation for Gen Con in Indianapolis!
