Jay St Video Games in Crossgates Mall!

Thats right children, JSVG is opening a new store in Crossgates Mall next week! I've been doing a bunch of designing and sign making for this store and will be working there from now on as well.
With this design, I tried to include most of the popular games that represent who we are.
Can you name them all?

One Sky... progress

This is the first half of a two part painting..
I'm doing this one in oils, so its going pretty slow. But I'll be updating the progress as I complete it.
So I'll start with the base painting....



I'll work my way from the background to the foreground. Start with some blue..


Then add some more colors..


Next is the mountains and land..


aand now to get rid of that awful underpainting..

now we wait for it to dry.....

I went back over the background with some blues to get the moonlight right. then fixed up the ruins and added details everywhere..


and lastly went in with the moonlight highlights and stars..

So I know it's not exactly Halloween, but I thought this was fun to share. My parents recently discovered this with some old papers..



This was my entry for a Halloween contest that was held at a bank in Schenectady. The rules were simple.. basically tell a story that has something to do with Halloween.

I was around 11 years old at the time. So the judges must have either thought I was a deeply disturbed child who needed help or maybe they liked it for some reason because I ended up winning first place. Which got me a $50 savings deposit or something like that..
Funny... my illustrations havent changed too much..
